Traders are optimisic today as news about the end to the government shutdown hit the newswires. Futures were higher this morning and after the opening bell rang, the major indices popped higher and didn't look back. The S&P500 gained 103 points on the day, settling at 6832. The index is less than 1% away from its all-time high.
