The Dow lost another 400 points today. With yesterday's losses, the index fell more than 1000 points in the two sessions. It has now posted 3 losing weeks out of the last 4. This week will go down as the worst week since January 2016.



Fears of a trade war are being blamed for the downturn in the markets. History shows that nobody wins in a trade war and the likelihood of this turning into a full blown trade war is low. As many should know by now, President Trump uses extreme rhetoric to begin the negotiating process. As the other side begins to compromise, Trump begins to soften his stance and some middle ground will be reached. These fears will soon subside but it may quite a while of calm before the market has the confidence to take us to record levels again.
